Lauren is a fighter by every definition, after a tragic accident led to her losing an eye and her left hand, Lauren set off to become a leader and source of hope and inspiration for other young girls who have also experienced the same unimaginable loss. Lauren quickly realized that her road to recovery was not going to be easy and knowing she was not alone in her pain set off to become someone others could look up to by writing two best-selling books as well as launching her own foundation. Lauren has cultivated a safe place for women who have lost their limbs and has had the amazing success of assisting women across the country in receiving prosthetic limbs through her foundation, something that she learned early on was not covered by most insurances. As if writing two books and starting her own foundation wasn’t enough, Lauren also launched her own clean hair care line, Stranded, a dry shampoo powder made from all-natural ingredients for every hair color. She leaves us with a beautiful piece of advice when discussing showing grace in the industry, “Always remember that, that person has a story and a life that they are going through and we don’t know what it might be oftentimes, but really giving people the benefit of the doubt and having grace on people”. She reminds us that we have all be the person having a bad day with a bad attitude and encourages us to show love and grace towards others.
